Engine Creative a local Northampton business involved in “creative design” caught my eye this morning… Maybe not for the reasons you think!

I was buzzing around looking at Northampton tweets for a new secret project I’ve just started up. I have a rough idea and a skeleton but all that is another story for another day!

I’ve been doing a little research on local businesses in Northampton lately, and I found a fabulous local company that I have spotted that has had great success. They are called Engine Creative and what seems to be apparent to little old me me is the question what are they, Are they a Creative design agency with authority?

Let me explain.

I came across their website and thought fab a local business you don’t find often..:

• Clear work ethic
• Good reputation
• Great portfolio
• Social presence

They should be killing it! These guys seem to be a local creative design agency worth shouting about. So I did a quick search for “Creative design agency” without quotes in google I didn’t see them on the front or the second page…

That got me thinking,I wonder what online strategy they have? Is this Northampton creative design agency doing the basics? So first things first I need to discover their market.

I wonder how many folks are actually searching for a top end creative design company in the UK? so I jumped over to good old google adwords and this is what they told me:

I have to say the search term of creative design as broad as it looks is a great possibility for client list building and funnelling, That seems interesting, I even did the numbers and looked up a little Jaaxy info, the targeting of keywords such as

1. Brand design companies
2. Brand Logo Design
3. Brand design agencies
4. Brand identity design firm
5. Corporate branding design
6. Corporate brand identity

I began to get a clearer picture of the niche keyword opportunity with Jaaxy.

Engine Creative Agency Social: The Directors!

Matt Key is the Managing Director of Engine Creative Agency and I can see he’s into 3D animation, a buzz word that would place him ahead of competitors needs weaving into 3D animation agency into the portfolio. Also a cool 3D animated informercial is not difficult to get viral and would be a really neat and unique USP.

Phil Christer the Creative Director has Matt have linkedin on the company website. There is a slightly better image you would get from Phil, but If I were a potential client, I wonder if I would be sticking around?

Andy Wise Strategic Director is last member of the board of directors that I get acquainted with. So, by this time I am aware that this company could look a whole lot better online. Andy does have some more relevant keywords associated with his Linkedin profile though!

Now there are a few here that I’d scrap for making an impact on Creative Design, but at least another little clue at what need focused targeting

Yep Engine Creative are good… but could be GR8 with a little IM extra!

My Engine Creative Agency: Northampton Creative Design Summary

They do great work and that is without a doubt, the portfolio speaks for itself and is a great asset that needs leveraging. The online presence isn’t targeted… So leaving clients still looking… shame.

Engine Creative socially is up but is it effective? They could benefit from brand profile being revamped and addressed, Facebook fanpage needs to be a little more engaging, I love the idea of the give away, but who are YOU targeting Engine Creative on FB?

The only mention of marketing on linkedin takes you completely off base and needs the fixed and fast!..

Set upon a campaign of getting found for the keywords listed in this  and reap the benefits that come with that. Sell your services not your brand

The usability of your website, is it actually set up for the end user? A hint: it maybe me but i’d say it’s well worth split testing as those navigation bars really don’t agree with me!

Please do coach your team in what happens when they answer the phone!

If You Can’t Be Found Online For What You Do Something Needs Fixing

I’m no high flyer, BUT the talents and keen eye of online marketing adds value to a business at all levels, The video Kinda says it all ,just keep it simple eh!
